Sustainable Shoe Brands

Girls gotta love shoes. I’m all about shopping consciously, carefully choosing where I shop so that I can make more of a positive impact. Of course, the more environmentally sound the manufacturing process and the better the working conditions, the more fair & sustainable the brand. Here are a few of my favorite sustainable shoe brands making stylish, fair-trade & environmentally-friendly shoes for every occasion. From sneakers to boots to heels, there’s something for everyone.

5 sustainable shoe brands you need to know about:

1 / VEJA

VEJA is my top pick for sustainable sneakers. I have this pair and basically wear them every day. They’re uber comfortable and match everything. They’re known for their ethical production, using organic vegan cotton or leather and respecting fair trade standards.

2 / Everlane

When it comes to quality, Everlane is known for their timeless classics. Shoes are no exception. They are all ethically-sourced, affordable, and timeless. Also, they’re a notoriously transparent brand.

3 / ABLE

I love the minimal designs of ABLE’s shoes. Each pair is made in Peru by female artisans, supporting fair labor standards. If you’re looking for elegant basics in neutral colors, look to their selection of loafers, flats, and mules.

4 / All Birds

For running shoes, I like All Birds who have a simple mission: to make shoes in a better way. All of their shoes are made from sustainable materials. A go-to for traveling and exercising, these sneakers are comfy for day-to-day wear.

5 / Rothy’s

Rothy’s makes sustainable shoes from recycled plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in landfills. They create the soles from vegan, carbon-free rubber and recycled materials. So, these shoes come completely with a low environmental impact at heart. Rothy’s are both comfortable and stylish, the perfect combination.
