Home For The Holidays

We’re home for the holidays this year! We put up our Christmas tree on Thanksgiving. This years is a beauty. Julian and I started the tradition of getting a real tree about four years ago and absolutely love it. There’s nothing like the rustic touch of a real tree! Sure, the pine needles are a mess but cover them with gifts and it’s NBD. We’ve yet to put up the ornaments and lights, but we’ve made a vow to do so before this week is over.

This will be our first Christmas at home in Hong Kong, after Julian’s mom passed away earlier this year. Julian’s dad will be traveling to the US over the holidays, so it’ll just be me, Julian, Julian’s brother, and his brother’s girlfriend. I’m excited to settle down and let our own holiday traditions start to take root. I may even need to get Julian involved in a little Christmas cookie baking session with me. What do you guys think?

We’ve always done something different for Christmas. Last year was London. The year before that was Hong Kong with Julian’s family. The year before that was Amsterdam and Bruges. I’m really excited to be celebrating this year with just the two of us at home.

I can’t wait to have a Christmas movie marathon. Last week, we watched Love Actually at an outdoor cinema. It was magical! I can’t wait to cuddle up with a blanket on the couch in sweats and watch all of my favorites: Home Alone, Elf, Four Christmases, and Christmas with the Kranks. I put together this guide to some gifts I’m loving to make your home cozy for the holidays.

xoxo, Laura
